With hurricane season approaching, it is important that you know the difference between the each type of hurricane.
- Category 1 - Very dangerous winds that will produce some damage. Winds range from 74-95 mph. Falling debris could strike people, livestock, pets, and homes.

- Category 5 - Catastrophic damage will occur. Winds are 157 mph or higher. Flying debris can pose a severe threat to people, livestock, and pets, even if you are indoors.

On June 3rd, 2018 SERVPRO of Western Union County attended the 2018 Fort Lee Arts & Music Festival! This event was presented by the Fort Lee Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs as well as the Mayor and Council of Fort Lee. We were so glad we were able to attend and involve ourselves in our community. Plus, the event was super fun! There was music, artists, kids rides, a Harley Davidson Bike Show, and other vendors! We are always looking for opportunities to get involved in our community as well as expand our business. Several members of our team attended and each one of them had a blast. We can't wait to see what the next festival has in store!
Classifying a Water Damage
When our crew gets to a water damage, we not only categorize it, but we classify the damage as well.
Water damages are classified based on the amount of water as well as the material involved in the damage.
- Class 1 - This is the least amount of water, absorption, and evaporation. Only a portion of a room is affected or a larger area with minimal moisture absorbed. There is little to no wet carpet present.

Each year, we host our annual Pet Adoption Day to help local animal shelters in our area. Ever since our first year, we have been more and more successful in helping find dogs and cats their forever homes. This event is our favorite event that we host by far! The look children's faces when they know they have found the perfect addition to family is priceless.

Sewage Backup in a Commercial Building in Fanwood, NJ

A commercial building in Fanwood, NJ called us recently about a sewage backup in one of their bathrooms. We got a crew chief out to them the same day so we could see what we were dealing with. After evaluating the damage and identifying the course of action, we got a crew in there to begin the cleanup process. The after picture was taken only a few days after we got the call about the backup.
